love it!!!! your are awesome!!!
Hi I just wanted to leave a post for you about your information on where to meet men as a single mom. I am 28yrs old, I live in Upstate NY. I attend college full-time so I can get my higher education and get a better job, I am raising my 4yr old twin sons on my own full-time (I got divorced in 2008 from their father because he was abusive) and I work part-time as a waitress so I can take care of my life responsibilities. I have been single for a little over three-years and have tried the online dating scene.
In a way online dating is a good thing, for me it allowed me to learn how to date. I was married young and with the same person for almost seven years. By going on dates I rebuilt my self confidence, learned how to listen better and get an idea of how I wanted to introduce myself. Its true children do need to be put first and the guy your seeing does need to know because otherwise its a waste of two-weeks and babysitting money later when you tell him and he doesn’t call back. Also by dating it opens your mind to what your looking for and what your definately not looking for.
Ms Single Mama, I am not sure what you experienced on the website you said plof (im not sure if we can actually say it due to copy rights) but I tried that website for over a year and had Very bad dates. I left that site and felt like it is just a website for guys to weed through the women they want to sleep with. I agree online dating can be expensive, I would rather spend my money on other stuff too but I have actually recently gotten back into it and decided just to try it for a couple of months, pay the fee. I am serious about meeting someone and online dating is good for me because up front- I work, I go to college, I am divorced, I have twin boys 24/7 and I am doing it all on my own- so take it or leave it. In the past I felt like single moms that are doing it well and providing for their children attract the guys online that think we are rich or have money- crazy men. Out here not many people use craigslist because of all the killings and crime towards women that have come from it. They have a group called “Parents without Partners” but the group has a lot of older single parents, its hard to relate to. Alot of guys I think also think we are the ‘fun’ ones because we are on our own, and with some of the youtube movies out there on “why not to date single moms” it can be frustrating. But I have faith that someday I will meet a guy who will accept me for me and my twin sons. There are so many people in the world, ms single mom I truely enjoy your website/blog and I hope you know you have made a difference for other moms.
