My oldest is 23, and I have four or five of these homemade ornaments with his picture in them that still hang on our tree every year. My heart melts every year when I find them while we’re decorating the tree.

Hey Alaina – haven’t had time to read/comment in quite a while and planning on catching up with your blog. I love your gift – I have a tree full of these little treasures from pre-school till now (my oldest is now in 6th grade). When we decorated the tree this year, we had a whole eleven years of memories (and six in my son’s case) of these wonderful handmade gifts. Nothing in the world could be better than those. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and that you get to enjoy your beautiful little boy’s joy. I miss your advice and blog and will be putting it on my new resolutions list to check in more often.

A word from the wise, treat it like the treasure it is. Keep it wrapped in your undie drawer or somewhere safe. I put a similar gem in with the other Christmas ornaments in the basement and it molded
