The beginning.

by mssinglemama on May 10, 2009

We met at 7:30 in the morning.

“So how much do you guys know about search engine optimization?” I was mingling with the crowd, getting a feel for their knowledge on the subject before I started my presentation.

“I know a bit, he lived and breathed it along with blogging, social marketing, web site development and all things interactive. He couldn’t possibly be single, I thought.

And those eyes with that smile.

I went up to present, making jokes the entire time – as I often do – about the keywords pointing to this blog like “most beautiful men” and “how to date a single mom.”

“It’s so cute,” I said, “all of these men who are in love with single moms.”

I looked at him when I said this and he was smiling.

Afterward he handed me his business card, “We should get together so we can ‘geek out’ about all of this stuff.”

“Definitely. Next week I’m free.”

Our geek session turned into a date after the first bottle of wine when he asked, “I’m not imagining this am I? I mean there’s something going on between us, right?”

He was adorable. And he was right.

To be continued…

[Sorry to be a tease but I am beyond exhausted].

Ahhhh…and so the story of THE BEAR begins!! I'm really looking forward to hearing about Mission #1 and how you two got along (I'm assuming great since you're now blogging about him…lol).

I hate teases…but I'll stick around to find out what happens with this one.

Aww! Thanks for the teaser – can't wait to hear more! I like to live vacariously through your stories. 🙂

Have you seen the movie "Last Chance Harvey"? It just came out on Tuesday and it is so good. It might be worth checking out – it's kind of about an unconventional love story & overcoming our tendency to expect to be disappointed…

mssinglemama May 12, 2009 at 1:17 pm

I have not but I'll check that out. Maybe watch it with the Bear. ; ) Thank you!

MindyMom May 11, 2009 at 2:36 pm

And this IS the Bear we are oohing over, right?

mssinglemama May 12, 2009 at 1:18 pm

Bill May 12, 2009 at 1:40 pm

Rock on!

Anna May 12, 2009 at 2:28 pm

This is like the movie I have watched over and over again "SASSY GIRL" (original version) A love story told online and it got too many fans that it attracted producers to create a film for it. Hmmmm… I wonder what your movie's title would be? Please share your thoughts with the blogs I'm starting, It will be of great help.

wyliekat May 12, 2009 at 2:55 pm

Boo! Boo, sayeth I, for the teaser post! ;-}

Dr. Phibes May 12, 2009 at 6:12 pm

Given that the entire purpose of this blog was to find a man, I'd say, "Well done!" and call it a day. For those wondering about the details, it went like this: Boy meets girl, they hump. No mysteries here. It's a story as old as time, it's the circle of life…

Lex ~ @laprimera May 12, 2009 at 8:39 pm

So happy for you and looking forward to hearing the rest!

movin down the road May 12, 2009 at 9:36 pm

I had to come check your comments after seeing your twitter post. BAH! (is what I say).

You sound happy about this new guy….I totally know how you feel. (for me, after almost a year, I still feel that way).

junctionmama May 12, 2009 at 10:49 pm

I am so happy for you 🙂

I think the rude comments are laughable and entertaining for all of us. That''s why you don't censor, right? We all need a chuckle every once in a while.

Rock on mama!

Janet May 13, 2009 at 12:01 am

So cute. You totally deserve it!!

Jonathan May 13, 2009 at 4:59 am

It can be scary to reveal beginnings before you know the end off the story. Kudos!
