Rogue Mission

by mssinglemama on April 28, 2009

If you missed it…

Last month I entered a video in hopes of being selected as one of 100 Ford Fiesta Movement agents.

A few weeks later I got a surprising phone call from Ford that I had, indeed won. The call came from this guy… Andrew, my Mission Control point of contact.

Isn’t he the sweetest?

I’ve already called him in the middle of the night (his time) with a non-emergency call and he wasn’t even upset. I just feel so much better knowing I’m in good hands. Standing behind Andrew are the two guys I hung out with the most during my agent training. On the left is So_Andy_Said and on the right is Mark, known as Lushville on Twitter. They are both nearly as sweet and definitely as cool as Andrew so follow them and say “hi”.

Soon after I found out I won I let all of you pick the graphics with Benjamin breaking the tie. The winner? Black fancy flowers on my magenta car. In exchange for the car, the gas and the insurance I have to complete a Ford Fiesta Movement mission every month for the next six months.

But, being the ansy single mama I am, Morgan (who came to meet me in Chicago for this) and I decided a rogue mission was in order… watch this video to find out what we concocted. One hint: it’s permanent and it involves all of you.

You’ll also see all of the big highlights from my agent training (including finding and driving my car) and then Benjamin’s reaction when we got home.

To be continued…

Outtakes of benjamin are the best!! I hope you don't have to fly again without him soon – sounds like he might expect another car to appear. 🙂

hipsinglemama April 28, 2009 at 2:23 pm

Wow. Awesome. Benjamin is just adorable!

SingleParentDad April 28, 2009 at 2:26 pm

But they put the driver's wheel in the wrong side of the car.

keeshabee April 28, 2009 at 2:40 pm

Benjamin is too cute! The car looks awesome 🙂 After the 6 months of the agent mission, do you get to keep the car?

Laura April 28, 2009 at 2:47 pm

The Queen April 28, 2009 at 3:43 pm

LOVE the secret mission idea! As an avid bird watcher, and as someone who also used to have a leaf necklace, I am totally on board 😉

So glad Benjamin loves the flowers!

ModernSingleMomma April 28, 2009 at 8:17 pm

Wish I was there for the tat too. Loved riding in the Fiesta with you, sis! 😉 More adventures await us, right??? 😉

karen April 28, 2009 at 8:40 pm

My favorite part of the video is you saying "I can't do this in front of kids"!!

Jen April 28, 2009 at 10:17 pm

Congrats!! Can't wait to see what adventures await you and Benjamin.

Canadian Bald Guy April 28, 2009 at 11:14 pm

I'm not too sure about the outside of the car, but the inside will DEFINITELY attract guys. It's all gadgety and electronicy and stuff.

Oh look, something shiny…

Brittni April 29, 2009 at 12:59 am

You look so hot in the car! I forsee you getting several compliments so prepare yourself! I love how proud Benjamin is of the car and espescialy of the flowers. You are going to pick up guys and he might just pick up a few ladies as well. You better watch him 🙂

Can't wait to see the tattoo and see what's next on your mission agenda! Congrats on the awesome ride!

amy April 29, 2009 at 1:11 am

Jenn April 29, 2009 at 6:01 pm

I can't wait to see the many missions you have ahead of you! Your son is adorable and so is that car!

I'll be waiting to see the tattoo and necklaces – totally on board with that mission!

Irishmom April 29, 2009 at 10:07 pm

Awesome video. And Benjamin – well he's just adorable. I love that age. He seems quite impressed with the flowers on the car and even though I voted no flowers, they do distinguish it! Happy driving! 🙂

Janet April 30, 2009 at 2:19 am

So cute how excited Benjamin is about the flowers. 🙂

Nico April 30, 2009 at 7:59 am

Spruce Hill April 30, 2009 at 5:46 pm

It looks like you guys had a good time! I love the flowers they really do look great!

Dr. Phibes April 30, 2009 at 6:36 pm

So your blog is now frozen on this car bullcrap?

TwinCitiesLynn May 1, 2009 at 12:55 am

I love fresh new tattoos, my roses have since faded, but my eyeliner is tattooed on and I get that refreshed every cuple of years. Car looks great, can't wait to see more adventures. And yes Dr. Phibes, we are all looking forward to 6 months of "car bullcrap".

Oh I LOVE the idea of Single Mama necklaces! It reminded me that I wanted to share some info with you and your readers. Last month I went on a date (which was awful) to a fundraiser for a company that makes jewelry, Solstice Designs. There goal this year was to be able to give 400 necklaces – titled "The Courage Within" – to children in shelters around the country, so that they could give their mothers a gift on Mother's Day. To continue their generosity, for every Courage Within necklace they sell, they will donate $5 to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
will give people some more information. I just thought that Single Mamas need to stick together, and that this is a great way to help some new Single Mamas who are starting out on a difficult journey! And a great excuse to buy ourselves something shiny 🙂
