A dedication…

by mssinglemama on September 25, 2008

To Morgan (Modern Single Momma) who may soon be moving to Kentucky with her Phenomenal Man in Moseley…

she’ll be just three hours away from me! (And yes, I think she’s completely crazy – but what the hell? Sometimes love takes us over. And I have a good feeling about this one.)

This is her song now…

The Be Good Tanyas, “Only in the Past”

And this is mine (because Cabin Man is still on my mind). He might be visiting Monday night when Benjamin is fast asleep. It’ll work – totally covert.

Death Cab for Cutie, “When Soul Meets Body”

And this one is for you, all of my single mamas, who I love so damn much.

Feist, “I Feel it All”

I don’t know what I knew before, but now I want to win the war.

[This video is kind of crazy - but, the song - WOW]

And if you haven’t already… take my Single Parent Poll:

When was your last date?

Okay, so I think my last date was two nights ago, but is it really a date when he comes to my house and I make him dinner? Quick history, I seperated from my husband almost exactly one year ago, about a month ago I met this fun guy and went on my first date. Anyways, the next thing you know he’s calling me his girlfriend (ahhh!) and wants to come over almost every night. The first two weeks he was asking me to go out and do things, but as you all know it’s super hard with kids, and mostly I would have to say no. Well now, he hasn’t asked me to go anywhere or do anything in two weeks, and I’ve even suggested it (which he’s like okay, but then doesn’t mention it again), but I really want HIM to initiate and plan a date. I guess I should just plan something, it’s just I want to know that he’s not only capable but willing to plan things out. Part of what attracted me to him were the things he asked me to do in the first place!

P.S. The girlfriend thing still totally weird, but I’ve never dated a man who didn’t immediatly push for a relationship, so I’m kind of used to it. I just hope I’m not jumping in to fast AGAIN.

I’m looking forward to beginning a whole new life in Kentucky for many reasons– and knowing you, my dear, will only be 3 hours away makes me so happy! MORE VIDEOS WILL BE MADE =) You are the greatest partner in crime in that.

So much love to you!

It is tough when friends move! I have two very good friends moving to NYC – so far away. But at the same time I have another very good friend moving back here from NYC – so just when I felt forced into letting my friends go, another one is coming back to me! Love how that works!

I’ve decided to put my dating life on hold for the next 6 years at least as my nearest is nearly an adolescent.
