Speechless…

by mssinglemama on August 28, 2008

Just wanted to take a moment to remind everyone that tonight the first candidate raised by a single mother will accept his nomination for President of the United States of America.

And hopefully Joe Biden, a single father, will take the stage as well. After that I might watch take a minute to catch some Michael Phelps videos.

So proud and hopeful. This is an historic night on many levels.

P.S.

If you’re still on the fence about Obama read about his Father’s Day speech calling out dead beat dads.

Biden spoke Wednesday night so you might have missed him. I am an ardent Obama supporter and have been watching the convention very very closely. Former President Bill Clinton’s speech was fantastic. Dennis Kucinich’s speech was off the charts. Anyone on the fence needs to watch this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PdJUCU1UH2w

“(John McCain) will make Cheney look like Ghandi”… scary

Watching the Democratic Convention I more than once was overcome with the thought, “This is such an exciting time to be alive! Human beings are SOOO rad! We REALLY DO want to create a better world!”

I am so excited for the possibility and redemption that lies ahead in the next 4 years. I cannot think of a world where Obama is not voted in as our next President. I have too much faith in humanity to even go there…

On a related note, does anyone know if the Democratic Convention will be released on DVD? I want one.

This is a historical moment, I can feel it!

Joe Biden isn’t really a single father. He’s been married since 1977, 5 years after his wife and infant daughter died in a tragic accident. hmm well technically he was a single father for 5 years then.

still this is joyous history in the making. GOP doesn’t stand a chance!

Aaron.

I’ve been a single mother for 2 years… does that mean I’m not really a single mother?

There’s something about being a single parent, especially a single parent with no support (in life or death) from the other parent. It’s an experience I’m sure I will never forget.

Never before in a political campaign have we heard so many cries for single parent rights. It’s exciting! And yes, the Republicans don’t stand a chance…

I’m sorry mssinglemama, it’s just that according to Wikipedia: Joe Biden is a married man -

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jill_Biden .

Married to Jill Biden since 1977…

I guess he’s a married single father?
