Being a single mom is something to be incredibly proud of and to embrace. We get the joy and opportunity of falling in love anew everyday–with our kids, with our freedom, with the self we are becoming.

mmmmmmmmm.. is that selfishness??? or feminism???

normal people dont fall in love everyday!!

Good read. I am a recent single mom too, my marriage broke up after 14 years…
writing about my experiences as a single mom in Delhi, India. And was going to write about finding love as a single mom in my next post.
Am glad you found love. And I agree. We should not be afraid of who we are…

“once a single parent, always a single parent” being someone who is dating a single mom, this sentiment is somewhat worrisome to me. i am dating a single mom and i love both her and her son. we have the potential for something special if we can stay on track together. her son and i do things that are
“ours” and i talk about him with a sense of pride because i feel i have contributed to his abc’s and counting, etc. if i didn’t feel i could at some point, once i had earned the right, be slim’s father, i wouldn’t be with my sweet love.

i think in your heart you will always know you are capable of being happy and succesfully raising your child on your own, but i guess i wondered if that meant more of a seperation in the role a man could have in your childs life?

All so, so true. I especially identify with the “once a single parent, always a single parent” sentiment. My relationship with my boyfriend is getting more serious, but because of everything I’ve already been through on my own, I know I will always be a single parent in my heart.

Love this post (no pun intended)! I am so happy for you and I agree with all 3 trite’s however number 1 hits home for me. Love yourself before you love another-I also checked out the single parent’s magazine’s website and I am so excited and can’t wait for it to launch! Finally a magazine on the racks that I can actually relate to! Good luck!
