I think Frances is lucky in that shei s adorable in that tiny blond girl with huge blue eyes way–so when she says “Hi!” to someone they usually say hi back. It’s not fair, I know, everyone’s kid deserves the same treatment–but I’m glad she gets it because she is crushed when someone doesn’t reciprocate. So I sympathize. ON the other hand–what if someone they loved died just that morning? Or they just lost their jobs? There are a thousand reasons someone might not be able to smile some days and I’ve been in the position a few times where tragedy was bringing my life down around me and some clueless stranger on the street told me to smile.

I’ve recently subscribed to the feed for the iheartsingleparents “Everyone’s Blog” – http://www.iheartsingleparents.com/profiles/blog/list – and I’m really enjoying lurking along with the random posts-to-the-universe. It makes me feel like I’m involved in a community of single parents in spirit, and a lot of the issues raised have hit home for me in different ways (finances, exes, quiet Friday nights, etc).

Son says Hi to almost everyone, too, and gives a cute little wave to boot. I HATE when someone doesn’t wave or say hi back. Also, Son also calls lots of different guys “Daddy”–kind of like what you said Benjamin did with your great dane.

I find that interesting.
