Just wanted to say hello in person! : )
I LOVE iMacs. I also feel like a HUGE dork for making this but I really, really want to put a voice/face to everything that I’m writing. So here you go. Be nice. Don’t make fun of me too badly, okay?

It appears that Jamie Lynn Spears couldn’t handle the idea of being a single mom and is now engaged to the baby’s father. Or is it just a rumor?
Who knows…but she was spotted wearing this t-shirt saying “the rumors are true” and a diamond ring.
Sigh. Too bad for her. I know it’s none of my business but the odds that marriage will last are not in her favor. Being a single mom would have been the better route. Why do people get married just because they’re pregnant?
I just don’t get it. And she’s only, what? 16!!! Can you even get married when you’re that young? Jamie Lynn…if you’re reading this DO NOT get married. It’s really not that bad being a single mother.

Until recently, I enjoyed the pleasure of dating without my little mush brain baby having a clue as to what was going on. But now Benjamin is a very keen toddler who is definitely on to me.
If you’ve been reading for a while you know what’s up … but for those who haven’t:
1. Kris and I have been together for about 6 months (my longest relationship post-divorce)
2. He is my best friend. I love him. And he is quite possibly the sweetest, most respectful and adoring man I’ve ever been with.
3. But, there’s a fat chance we’ll end up together (we’re just at different stages in our lives: him- college, me- family and career).
4. We broke up recently but got back together with a few conditions:
a) We would not think about our future together and just have fun
b) He would see Benjamin a lot less
We’ve had no problem sticking to b).
They’ve been seeing each other just once a week ever since. These are usually on Saturday mornings/afternoons. So where does Benjamin find Kris on Saturday mornings? In mommy’s bed of course. It’s actually an adorable scene and one that consistently reminds me that I’ve found a great guy. [click to continue…]

She’s a college student and now (officially) a single mom. Momma Cum Laude has been blogging about her pregnancy, her fears, her joys and her doubts in her daughter’s absent father for a few months now.
And today little Anna was born. She’s 8 lbs, 1 oz and 20 1/4 inches long. So pop over and wish her the best. [click to continue…]

When I popped Once in, I couldn’t even remember what it was about. I ordered it from Netflix ages ago. The description says it’s a love story and a musical in Dublin. Oh boy. I usually hate musicals and couldn’t remember why I ordered it … but god am I glad I did.

This might be a bit of a spoiler…but I want you to read it anyway, especially if you aren’t going to watch it. [click to continue…]

I had no idea Mark Ecko was so inspiring.
He started his own fashion line in the ’90’s. Quality skater clothes. In the New York Times this week there’s a great feature on his trailblazing efforts to break into the fashion industry.
Not sure who actually wrote this article because the byline says “By Mark Ecko, as told by: Bobbi Demsey”
What does “as told by” mean?
I’m thinking…it means Mark told the story to Bobbi who then wrote the article.
Big difference? Ummm…yeah there’s a difference.
Anyway, according to Bobbi or Mark,
“Whatever you do in life, be passionate about it. At least once a month, if not every day, reassess what you’re doing and make sure you still love it. If you’re passionate about something others around you may see as a dead end, pave your own way. Be a trailblazer.”
Hell yeah! I could kiss whoever actually wrote that line. They read my mind.
Trailblazing is highly recommended, especially when you’re a single mom breaking all of the damn rules anyway. We’re trailblazers by default.

One of the sexiest things about single moms (for the guys) and one of the most trying (for us) is the fact that we are on top of it … beauty wise. Well, I am anyways. But it’s not easy. I barely have time to shop. And there’s nothing worse than dragging a screaming toddler through the beauty section only to bring the product home and find out it sucks. Talk about guilt.
So with spring just around the corner I think we should all start sharing some time-saving, money-saving beauty tips. Here’s mine…
Say hello to the single mom savior … my little friends the Tan Towels!

How in the hell is cleaning out a little tiny plastic toilet easier than changing a diaper? Please, please experienced mommies enlighten me. How do you get the little toilet bowl clean? Do I have to scoop it out with a paper towel? Sigh.
And Benjamin just took his first pee pee in the potty!!! Standing up, of course because he’s 100% boy.
*UPDATE* I FOUND A BABY URINAL!!! No, I’m not shitting you.

to this song.

Not sure but I think the lyrics might be about a son losing his father. Regardless, every once in a while I find a song that just hits me and I listen to it until I’m dancing in my sleep. [click to continue…]
