On Friday night my manperson volunteered to paint my kitchen table…and here’s the result.
I love it! Never thought I would ever want a polka dot table…am I delusional or is this totally shabby chic?
And what a nice manperson I have! Status on Kris and I: fantastic! I credit it to the fact that we only see each other two nights a week now. And, my new mind frame about the relationship is sticking. It’s left me with a completely relaxed boyfriend who now (it seems) loves me and appreciates me even more – as I do him. Very nice. I think we sometimes lose sight of what we want people for…somewhere between that lovey dovey courtship phase and the settling in, comfortable phase we forget to just enjoy each other.
P.S. I took this picture right before my litle house party. Just a few friends, some wine, some cheese and some much needed adult conversation. I figured this out a while ago – host parties – it’s a huge money saver. I don’t have to pay for a sitter or a bar tab and I’m completely relaxed because my kid isn’t at home with a stranger. He sleeps through the racket thanks to a white noise space heater and a remote bedroom location.

I LOVE the polka dots!
Love it – SO cute!
This is funny – I just got done posting about MY Saturday night party experience – SORELY needed! You’ve inspired me to think about trying the next one at my place …
Thanks you guys! I love it too…MommyPie – can’t wait to read about yours…mine was fairly tame. But yes having your own parties is so much fun. We’re single moms – so we have time to plan fabulous parties without an annoying spouse getting in the way.
Love the table, too!!
What a great idea, re: the party-at-home. I think it works perfect when you have a little one. I don’t think I could get away with it now, having an almost-8-year-old. She’d wake up and join the fun. But kids these age get to have slumber parties at their friends’ homes, right?
Super cute table! And yes I think you have something there I need to be hosting more fun wine nights!
