Boyfriend + toddler + work = tired single mama

by mssinglemama on January 15, 2008

I love my adorable toddler and I love my adorable boyfriend…oh, and I love my amazing job. I love them all so much I just don’t want to sleep as much as I should. Life is too good but my life is also incredibly tiring. What’s a single mom to do? Say no to the boyfriend. Nope. That’s not going to happen. After all good lovin’ is one of my favorite things in life. Can’t pass that up.

How about the toddler – could tell him to chill out with a good book so mommy can take a nap. Nope. And the job – well, can’t quit that. Does anyone have any energy tips? I feel like I’ve been tired forever. Doesn’t help that my son is now waking up at 6:00 a.m. instead of 7:00 a.m. Hmmm….any suggestions? I don’t like energy drinks and like most other single, working moms working out is not an option. I have cut back on my cleaning. Letting that go has been easy…the place is still nice and orderly but I used to clean, really clean, every single night. Now I’m way behind.

I’ve got to go clean…sorry for another short, short entry. I think the above explains why. Please feel free to browse my site for more in depth blog entries that may keep you entertained until this single mama catches up on her sleep. Which won’t be tonight because – yep – boyfriend is coming over.

From one single mom to another, I have this advice for energy and stamina to get you through…you have to exercise. Not just sit-ups on the floor while watching TV, something that makes you sweat.

I know what you are thinking…how do I work that in with everything else I have to do? All I know is you have to get up and do it. It will give you more energy than anything else you could possibly think of and you can do it with your little man, big man or alone.

If I didn’t have my days to go and work out the kinks, I wouldn’t make it through the week.

Hope that helps

I know – working out would be wonderful…in the summer we take at least one walk every night (after work) and at least three a day on the weekends. It’s the biting winter cold that’s got us trapped inside along with the dark, dark nights. Can’t wait for spring!!!

I know I’m replying to an old post, but here goes. I’m a single mum to a Beautifull 4(nearly 5) year old whose just about to start school. In the last 3 years I have completed a two year full time masters, a higher diploma in education whilst working full time in between available hours. I have at times been exhausted and would be asleep now but for green juicing, try it out both my son and I love it…liquid energiser and great skin to boot, love your blog by the by,
